One of the most important things to look into when traveling is how well received other ethnicities are. This is important because walking into a situation where the locals are not accepting is dangerous. Uneasiness could escalate into scams, violence, and much more. Take a look below and you’ll find cities that treat those with different ethnic backgrounds well.

Toronto, Canada

Canada may be known for its cold weather, but it is also a very accepting country. Toronto has people of all ethnicities living among one another without visible racial tension. Travelers here can expect a warm, inviting, and diverse local community that most definitely will not have a problem with you because of your ethnic background.

Orlando, Florida

Orlando is one of the best examples of an international city you can find. It has a very diverse ethnic makeup, and travelers from all over the world come to visit it every day due to its world-renowned attractions. In this friendly city people from all over come here to have fun and relax, so fitting in is quite easy.

Astana, Kazakhstan

Astana is usually not on anyone’s radar, but it’s a rapidly building city with a Kazakhstan Democracy that’s bringing a lot of great change to the country. With this change comes a strong economy built around a massive discovery of oil and a realization that citizens from around the world are necessary to enable Kazakhstan growth.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Dubai has a great deal of religious influence and strictly follows traditional values. However, its booming economy has opened the doors to more accepting travelers. You can easily find people from all over the world coming to Dubai on business, pleasure, or just to see how rapidly this city is really growing.

Most of us think of a vacation as a slightly decadent “guilty pleasure.” Yet vacations are an important time for recharging our biological and emotional batteries, de-stressing and reassessing where we are in our lives and frankly, taking a look at what it’s all about.

Looked at from this perspective, a vacation is a very healthy way to make ourselves better able to lead a productive and enjoyable life. Yet many of still feel a strange kind of guilt about “getting away.” If you are feeling “vacation guilt”–it’s important to take a look at this issue and sort out where these feelings are coming from, and frankly, give yourself a break.

There is ample evidence pointing to the good health effects of vacations. We all know that just getting away from our daily responsibilities makes us feel better. Yet the hard-charged American work ethic can make us feel that getting away is a luxury we simply can’t afford. According to a recent poll, a large percentage of Americans find that getting away is something they just can’t make the time for. For others, using up vacation time at work is a scary option during these times of heightened economic stress.

Yet robbing yourself of mental downtime, away from work, can lead to other problems. Stress has a toxic effect on our bodies if it is not addressed.

According to experts at Webmd.com, workplace stress is a serious issue that shouldn’t be ignored. Too much stress can lead to situations that can impact the heart and our overall health. Given all this, a vacation isn’t something to feel guilty over—it must be celebrated.

So, get those bags packed. Take a look at our site here at Here There and Everywhere for vacation planning tips to get your trip planned perfectly. What are you waiting for?

Traveling soon? You may want to start thinking about your luggage now. Picking out luggage is not difficult and there is much available to choose from. You will need to think about what you expect from your luggage and find something that will fit your needs.

Rolling luggage:

Most people find Rolling luggage easier to handle. It causes less wear and tear on your body. Here are a few things to consider when looking:

1) Look for lightweight but sturdy. Remember that bags have to be under a certain weight when flying. You do not want to use half of that on the suitcase itself.

2) Be sure the wheels move easily and are anchored well. Wheels mounted from the inside of the bag make for a sturdier bag. Be sure that the wheels are made of a hard plastic.

3) The material of the suitcase should be tear resistant. You do not want to arrive at your destination to find your luggage and belongings are destroyed.

4) Check all zippers and be sure that they work properly before buying. Zippers with large, metal teeth are better and will last longer.

Carry-Ons:

Remember that the airlines have a standard for the size of your bag. Most will not allow anything over 10×22, so when choosing a bag keep this in mind.

1) Again, something with wheels would be best.

2) Find something with many compartments to keep your bag organized.

3) Something with straps may be something to consider if you would like to carry it on your back.

Choose well and hopefully you will never have to buy again.

If your main worry concerning your upcoming trip is about travel insurance, you might be going about your thinking altogether incorrectly. That’s because additional fees are the things that might just make or break your vacation. This is particularly so if your budget is tight, as is often the case. So what kinds of fees are there to consider when next you’re traveling? That depends on where you’re going.

Say your travel plans involve wanting to drive a motorcycle across sections of the Pan-American highway in South America. The gas is cheap, both because motorcycles offer good mileage, and because many oil-producing nations subsidize their citizen’s fuel expenses by keeping gas cheap. But expenses crop up out of the blue if you haven’t done your research. Crossing country borders is notorious for being expensive in that it often takes additional money to talk your way out of ‘infractions’ that border patrol will find.

Beyond seeming exercises in extortion, there are other issues that can cost money. Sometimes bridges and other roads charge inordinate fees for crossings. Sometimes, as at the Darien Gap, there is no bridge. Alternate means of crossing the water are necessary, such as hiring a boat to shuttle your transport, or even flying it across the water. How about stomach bugs? Those are as predictable as rain in a rain forest when traveling in third world nations. The drugs to combat the symptoms don’t always come cheap, unless you’re able to stick with simple over the counter medications. From transport to health to other seemingly small issues, fees crop up during travel. Plan for this, and it will go smooth!

With today’s slumping economy, low unemployment rate, and the still-present lay-offs, many people consider a family vacation to be out of the question. Contrary to that belief, it is possible to take your family on vacation and save as much money as possible. Below are some tips for doing just that.

If you’ve done all the budgeting possible, but still find yourself a bit short on funds, why not consider a pay advance? With the current economic state, there are plenty of these places willing to help you make ends meet. Do your research and choose one that fits your needs.

When vacationing, of course you want to cut down on spending wherever possible. Why not stay close to home? Many people rarely realize that they can stay in their home state and find plenty of fun things to see and do, some that they never knew existed! Every state has its own unique history. Why not learn more about it?

The big question for vacationers is whether to fly or drive to the destination. If you’ll be staying close to home for your vacation, driving will probably be your best bet. If you’ve decided to do things in the city you live in (this happens for people who live in huge cities such as New York or Chicago), public transportation is a great choice and is even free sometimes.

If museums, planetariums, and other such attractions are on your list, be sure to check the websites ahead of time for free or discounted days. These could end up saving you more money than you think, depending on how large your family is.

Cruises are known for two things. First off, you are nice and isolated from the normal things in your life. Secondly, you are bound to spend a lot of money for things you would normally be able to get on the cheap. Islands sell the most expensive things to tourists, and the days when cruises were all inclusive are long gone. However, there is a way you can get a long cruise where you will not be spending all kinds of money on excursions off the ship. You can get some relaxation time in, and even do some work if you’re feeling creative by taking a repositioning cruise.

The good thing about repositioning cruises is that they are the purest getaways in the modern world that allow you to be in a comfortable place with access to technology. On a cruise, you can do something besides constantly texting and surfing the Internet, and actually find the time to read a good book. You might even want to write a good book. While the ship moves from one region to another for the start of a new season, you can even find a good deal on your cruise.

Another thing you might enjoy about a repositioning cruise is that it is often at a significant discount for what you actually get. Instead of spending a particular sum of money for three or four days, you can spend about as much and get some onboard comps and ten days or more. Couple the far more reasonable pricing with the fact that you are actually getting to go somewhere, and the entire deal feels a lot more fun.
